How Do I Enable or Disable Auto Stay on the IQ Panel 5?
To enable or disable Auto Stay on the IQ Panel 5, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and enter your Installer Code. Next, touch Installation, then Security and Arming, and toggle Auto Stay on or off. Auto Stay is enabled by default, so it is on unless you have changed it.
What Auto Stay Does
Auto Stay is a safeguard on the IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) that watches whether you actually leave after arming to Away. If you arm Away but no delay door is opened before the exit delay ends, the panel assumes you are still home and arms to Stay instead. That leaves your perimeter armed while keeping interior motion sensors off, which prevents false alarms on your security system when you never left.
This is why it is enabled by default; it is a common courtesy feature that catches the everyday case of arming Away and then staying inside. If you would rather have Away arming always stay in Away mode, even when no one leaves, you can disable Auto Stay. Both the on and off settings live in the same Security and Arming menu.
Before You Begin
Auto Stay is in the Security and Arming settings, which require the Installer Code (1111 by default) or Dealer Code (2222 by default). The steps below use the Installer Code. Auto Stay is on by default, so if you have never changed it, you will be turning it off; if it was disabled before, you will be turning it back on.

Tips
Leaving Auto Stay enabled is a good idea for most homes, since it quietly prevents the situation where you arm Away, stay inside, and then trip your own motion sensors. Consider disabling it only if you have a specific reason to force Away arming to remain Away, such as a setup where the panel is armed for an area you are not physically in. Remember that Auto Stay depends on a delay door being opened, so it works hand in hand with your exit delay timing during that countdown.
Enabling or disabling Auto Stay on the IQ Panel 5 lets you control how the panel behaves when you arm Away but do not leave.
