How Do I Enable Screen Lock on the IQ Panel 5 Security System?

To enable Screen Lock on the IQ Panel 5, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Settings Tray and touch the Screen Lock button. Select 4-digit or 6-digit, enter a PIN, and confirm it. Once set, the panel requires that PIN whenever it wakes from sleep to prevent unauthorized access.

What Screen Lock Does

The IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) includes a Screen Lock feature that requires a PIN entry every time the panel wakes from sleep. This prevents unauthorized users from accessing the Settings menu, Advanced Settings, and other panel functions. Screen Lock is separate from your arming and disarming codes — it only controls access to the panel's display and menus, not the security system itself.

You can choose between a 4-digit PIN or a 6-digit PIN. Once Screen Lock is enabled, the Lock Screen icon replaces the Status icon in the upper left corner of the Settings Tray. Screen Lock can be disabled at any time by returning to the Screen Lock button in the Settings Tray and turning it off. Screen Lock works independently of Partitions — you can enable or disable it regardless of whether Partitions are active.

How to Enable Screen Lock

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen. The Settings Tray opens with quick-access controls for brightness, volume, WIFI, Bluetooth, Screen Lock, and more.

How to Disable Screen Lock

To turn Screen Lock off, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Settings Tray and touch the Screen Lock icon again. Enter your current PIN when prompted. Screen Lock is immediately disabled. The Status icon returns to the upper left corner of the Settings Tray. You can re-enable Screen Lock at any time by following the same steps. For broader home automation control and remote access, the Alarm.com app also lets you manage your system remotely with monitoring features that keep your panel and account secure.

Enabling Screen Lock on the IQ Panel 5 adds a PIN layer that keeps unauthorized users from accessing panel settings and menus on the IQ Panel 5.
