How Do I Factory Default My Yale Z-Wave Lock?

You can factory default your Yale Z-Wave Lock by removing the batteries and the inside escutcheon. This will let you access the reset button that is found by the PCB cable connector. Press and hold the reset button. Keep the button held down as you reapply the batteries to factory reset.

A few things will happen if you perform a factory default on a Yale Z-Wave Lock. First, the Master PIN Code will be reset back to its default of 12345678. Second, any added codes will be deleted. Third, any Z-Wave settings will be reset. This means that the device will need to be re-enrolled with the Z-Wave Hub. You should clear the device from the network before attempting to enroll. A scenario where a default might be recommended is when the lock will be added to a Z-Wave network, but was previously used by itself with only local user codes.

4. Reassemble the lock. Reapply the inside escutcheon and the battery cover. Make sure that all the connections are nice and sealed. You can then re-enroll the lock and add any needed codes. Remember, performing a factory reset will have the lock behave as if it were powered on for the first time ever.
