How Do I Find the IQ5 Hub Hardware Version and Part Number?
To find the hardware version and part number on your IQ5 Hub, swipe down, touch Settings, touch Advanced Settings, enter your code, touch About, then touch Hardware. The popup lists Hardware Version and Part # along with six other readings. It takes only a moment and changes nothing.
What the Hardware Readings Show
The IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) lists eight hardware readings on the About page: Hardware Version, Manufacturer, PCA Serial #, Part #, System Configuration, System Serial #, RF PIC Version, and EEPROM Format Version. Two of them answer the questions people ask most often. Hardware Version identifies the hardware revision of your panel, and Part # identifies the part number it was built under.
This is different from the Software Version, which describes the software the panel is running. The hardware readings describe the physical unit itself, which stays the same no matter how many software updates it receives. Both are useful when you are talking with support or matching accessories to your security system.
How to Find the Hardware Version and Part Number
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen. This opens the Settings Tray with quick controls.

2. Touch Settings. This opens the main Settings page.
3. Touch Advanced Settings. This prompts you to enter a code before continuing.

4. Enter your code. The Installer Code, default 1111, the Master Code, default 1234, or the Dealer Code, default 2222, all provide access to the About page.
5. Touch About. This opens the About page, which lists Battery, Software, Hardware, Patches, Panel, Cellular, Z-Wave, PowerG, Wi-Fi Information, and Internal Storage.
6. Touch Hardware. A popup opens showing the hardware readings.
7. Find Hardware Version and Part # in the popup. Hardware Version is listed first, and Part # is listed after the PCA Serial #.
Why These Two Readings Matter
Hardware Version tells a technician which revision of the panel you own, which matters because compatibility notes and service instructions can differ between revisions. Part # identifies the exact part number, which helps when you are ordering a replacement or confirming that an accessory or part is meant for your model. Having both ready makes a support call faster, since the representative does not have to guess which unit you have.
The Other Readings in the Hardware Popup
Manufacturer shows Qolsys Inc., San Jose, CA. PCA Serial # is a serial number tied to the circuit board assembly, while System Serial # is the serial number of the system as a whole, and our separate article on finding the serial number covers that one. System Configuration identifies how the panel is configured. RF PIC Version and EEPROM Format Version are low-level technical readings that a technician uses when diagnosing hardware behavior.
Most homeowners will only need Hardware Version, Part #, and the serial number. The remaining readings are mainly for installers and support.
When You Would Check These Readings
The most common reasons are a support call, an accessory or replacement part purchase, and documenting a system for an installer. If you are comparing your panel against a compatibility note or a service bulletin, the Hardware Version is the reading to match. It is also worth recording alongside the serial number when you set up a new system, so the information is on hand if you ever need it.
Keeping a Record of These Readings
Hardware Version and Part # do not change over the life of the panel, which makes them worth recording once and keeping on file. Write them down alongside the serial number, the installer code, and the date the system was installed. When you contact support, replace a part, or hand the system over to a new owner or installer, having these details ready saves time and avoids confusion about which unit is involved. If you manage more than one system, keeping the readings in a simple list by location makes it easy to tell the units apart later.
If the Hardware Readings Are Empty
If the Hardware readings show no values, back out to the About page and open them again. If they are still empty, restart the panel from the Reboot option in Advanced Settings, then check again. If the readings still do not appear, contact Alarm Grid support so we can help determine whether the issue is with the panel itself.
