About the Sensor Group Page
The Sensor Group page on the IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is a quick reference that lists all of the sensor groups and how each one behaves. It is a view-only page, so nothing is changed by opening it. It is handy when you want to look up exactly what a group does, including whether it is supervised or which siren it uses, before you assign that group to a sensor on your security system.
Each row on the page represents one sensor group and shows several columns of information about it. Here is what each column means:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| ID | The group number, such as 10 or 13. This is the number you select when assigning a group to a sensor. |
| Type | The kind of device the group is meant for, like a door or window contact, a motion, or a safety sensor. |
| Name | The group's plain-language name, such as Entry-Exit or Instant Perimeter, describing its behavior. |
| Sup | Supervision. Shows whether the panel supervises the sensor, checking that it stays in regular contact and flagging a trouble if it goes silent. |
| Restoral | Whether the sensor sends a restore signal, reporting when it returns to normal after being tripped or opened. |
| Timer | Whether the group uses a delay timer, such as an entry or exit delay, or trips instantly with no delay. |
| Siren Type | The siren sound the panel produces when that group is triggered, which differs for burglary, fire, and other events. |
Before You Begin

Tips
The Sensor Group page is a reference only, so you do not assign a group from here. You actually set a sensor's group from the Sensor Group drop-down when you add a sensor or edit a zone on the IQ Panel 5. For a plain-language rundown of the most common groups and when to use each, see our overview of what sensor groups are on the IQ Panel 5. The list only shows groups that fit the panel's installed sensor frequencies.
