How Do I Learn the DSC PG9938 Panic Switch to the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus?

You can learn the DSC PG9938 Panic Switch to the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus by putting the system into its wireless enrollment mode and then making the necessary inputs on the device to send an enrollment signal. The panel will ask you to confirm enrollment, and you must configure its settings.

The DSC PG9938 is a PowerG Sensor that can be used with any Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus System that has a PowerG daughtercard installed. This is a single-button device that can be used to request emergency police, or medical dispatch based on Sensor Group selected in programming settings.

Complete the following steps to enroll a DSC PG9938 Panic Switch with a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus:

1. Access enrollment mode. Start from the main screen of the IQ Panel 2 Plus with the system disarmed. Press the small grey bar at the top of the screen. Choose Settings > Advanced Settings > Installer Code (default 1111) > Installation > Devices > Security Sensors > Auto Learn Sensor. The system will enter its wireless enrollment mode.

2. Enroll the sensor. Press and hold the button on the DSC PG9938 Panic Switch. The LED light will blink once. Continue holding the button. After a brief moment, the LED light will illuminate a second time. Release the button with the light still illuminated. The panel will recognize the sensor and ask you to auto-learn it in. Press OK to continue.


3. Configure the settings. Go through and configure the settings for the sensor. You can find a complete list of Sensor Groups starting on Page 47 of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus Install Guide. The compatible Sensor Groups for this pendant are 6 (default selected) 1, 0, 2, 4, or 25. The Sensor DL ID should be filled-in with the device's identifying number. The Sensor Type should be Auxiliary Pendant. The settings for Sensor Name, Chime Type and Voice Prompts can be whatever you would like. Source should be PowerG. Press the Add New button once you have finished to continue. When programming is complete, press the picture of the house at the bottom to return to the main screen.

4. Test the sensor. Put your system on test mode with the central monitoring station if necessary. Press and hold the button on the PG9938. The system should recognize the signal and go into the type of alarm you programmed in Step 3. You can then clear the alarm on your system and take it off test mode. Only use the panic switch in emergency situations.
