Honeywell 5802wxt wireless panic buttonThe Honeywell 5802WXT is a wireless single-button panic switch that is most commonly used as a wearable medical alert device. But depending upon its programming settings, it could also be used as a burglar or fire alert device. There's also the 5802WXT-2, which is a very similar device. The only difference is that the 5802WXT-2 has two buttons. This provides the ability for two single-button activation options and one dual-button activation option, for a total of three different possible command inputs. Please note that each input will require its own wireless zone on the system. But since the 5802WXT only has one button, the device will only require one system zone.

Complete the following steps to program a 5802WXT to your wireless LYNX Touch Security System:

1. Access programming. Start from the main screen of the LYNX Touch. Choose Security > More > Tools > enter Installer Code (default is 4112) > Program. This will put the panel into system programming.

2. Enter wireless enrollment mode. Choose Zones, followed by the Add New button at the bottom of the screen. Press the Serial Number field. The message "Enter Serial No. or Activate Sensor" will be displayed. This indicates that the LYNX Touch System is now in its wireless enrollment mode.

3. Enroll the device. Press and hold the button on the 5802WXT. The panel should beep to confirm that it has recognized the sensor. Do this three times to auto-enroll the 5802WXT.

4. Configure the settings. Go through each setting and program the device as needed. The Zone Descriptors are used for naming the device. The Device Type will usually be set to Fire, Police or Medical depending upon its application. The Response Type should also be set accordingly. Alarm Report should be set to Yes, assuming that you want the system to send an immediate alert to the central station when the 5802WXT has been activated. Supervision should be set to Supervised so that the system warns of any low battery.

Once you have finished, press the Save button in the bottom-right corner. Then press the return arrow in the upper-right corner of the screen to exit programming. Make sure to choose "Yes" when asked if you want to allow the Installer to re-enter programming.
