How Do I Replace the Battery in a 2GIG-DW100-345 Sensor?

You can replace the battery in a 2GIG-DW100-345 door/window contact sensor by opening the housing and swapping the CR2450 lithium coin cell. When the panel displays a low battery notification, replace the battery immediately to maintain reliable sensor operation and continuous monitoring.

The 2GIG-DW100-345 is a wireless sensor for 2GIG security systems including the GC Touch panel, (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE versions). The sensor uses a single CR2450 lithium coin cell battery with a nominal voltage of 3V. The total sensor weight including the battery and magnet is 1.1 oz (31.2 g). Expected battery life is up to eight years, depending on use.

Steps to Replace the Battery

  1. Press the tab to remove the sensor cover. Use your finger to press the tab on the end of the case. This will disengage the clip holding the cover to the base. Gently apply pressure in the direction away from the base to remove the cover.
  2. Slide out the battery in one direction. The battery will only slide out in one direction. One side of the battery clip has a stopping edge. Using your thumb, gently apply pressure in the direction away from the stopping edge to slide the battery out.
  3. Insert the replacement battery with the + sign facing up. Only use CR2450 type batteries. Slide the new battery into the clip with the positive (+) side facing up until it is fully seated.
  4. Snap the cover back onto the base. Align the cover with the base and press until the clip engages securely. The sensor will automatically resume normal operation.

Battery Safety Warnings

The polarity of the battery must be observed. Improper handling of lithium batteries may result in heat generation, explosion, or fire, which may lead to personal injuries. Replace only with the same or equivalent type of battery as recommended by the manufacturer. Do not recharge, disassemble, or dispose of batteries by burning. Dispose of used batteries in accordance with local waste recovery and recycling regulations. Keep batteries away from small children, and if swallowed, promptly see a doctor.

Ingestion Hazard

This product contains a button cell or coin battery. Death or serious injury can occur if ingested. A swallowed button cell or coin battery can cause internal chemical burns in as little as 2 hours. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children. Seek immediate medical attention if you suspect a child may have swallowed or inserted the battery inside any part of the body.

Replacing the battery in your 2GIG-DW100-345 ensures uninterrupted monitoring protection for your doors and windows. The panel will clear the low battery notification within 70 minutes after installing a fresh CR2450 battery.
