How Do I Set Up the System Health Check on the IQ Panel 5?

To set up the System Health Check on the IQ Panel 5, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and then enter your own Installer Code. Next, touch Installation, then Installer Settings, and then set the two System Health Check options the way that you prefer them to work here.

What the System Health Check Does

The System Health Check on the IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is a built-in status view that surfaces any current troubles on the panel, such as a sensor low battery, a connection problem, or a tamper. Two settings control how it behaves: one decides whether the feature appears at all, and the other decides whether the panel jumps to it automatically when something is wrong. Together they let you decide how prominently issues on your security system are surfaced. Here is what each one does:

Setting Default What it does
System Health Check Enabled Determines whether the System Health Check feature shows up on the Manage My System page. Disable it to hide the feature.
As Default Home Screen Disabled When enabled, the panel's home screen automatically defaults to the System Health Check page any time troubles exist.

In short, the first setting controls whether the System Health Check is available on the Manage My System page, and the second makes the panel surface it front and center on the home screen whenever there is a trouble to see.

Before You Begin

These settings are in the Installer Settings, which require the Installer Code (1111 by default) or Dealer Code (2222 by default). The steps below use the Installer Code. The System Health Check itself is enabled by default, so the main choice for most people is whether to also turn on As Default Home Screen so troubles pop to the front automatically.

Set Up the System Health Check

  1. Swipe down and touch Settings. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Settings Tray, then touch SETTINGS.

  2. Touch Advanced Settings and enter your Installer Code. Touch ADVANCED SETTINGS, then enter your Installer Code (1111 by default). The Dealer Code (2222) works here too. The panel advances automatically after a valid code.

  3. Touch Installation, then Installer Settings. Touch INSTALLATION, then open INSTALLER SETTINGS and find the System Health Check settings.

Open Installer Settings and find the System Health Check options.
  4. Set the two options. Check or uncheck System Health Check to show or hide the feature, and check System Health Check as Default Home Screen if you want the panel to jump to it automatically when troubles exist.

Set both System Health Check options.

Tips

Leaving System Health Check enabled is the right call for most people, since it gives you a quick place to see any troubles. Turning on As Default Home Screen is worth it if you want problems to be impossible to miss, since the panel will land on the health page whenever something needs attention; leave it off if you would rather the panel always return to your normal home screen. Neither setting changes how the panel detects troubles, only how and where it shows them to you.
