How Do I Trigger a Silent Alarm on the IQ Panel 5 System?
To trigger a Silent Alarm on the IQ Panel 5, touch the Emergency Panic icon in the bottom right corner of the home screen, then touch Silent Alarm at the bottom of the panic screen. This sends a police or emergency signal to your monitoring station without sounding the panel siren.
What a Silent Alarm Does
The IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) includes a Silent Alarm option at the bottom of the Emergency Panic screen. Unlike the standard Police, Fire, or Medical panic buttons, which trigger an audible siren pattern along with the emergency signal, Silent Alarm sends the same signal to your monitoring center without making any sound on the panel. This is useful in situations where an audible siren could escalate danger, such as a break-in in progress or a personal safety concern where you don't want an intruder to know help has been called.
Silent Alarm can be triggered whether the security system is armed or disarmed. It works the same way as a standard panic, sending a signal to your monitoring provider's central station, but the panel stays silent so no one nearby is alerted that a signal has gone out.
How to Trigger a Silent Alarm
1. Touch the Emergency Panic icon in the bottom right corner of the home screen. This opens the Emergency Panic screen with Police, Fire, Medical, and Silent Alarm options.

3. Wait for your monitoring center to respond. The signal is transmitted immediately, and a monitoring agent will follow their standard dispatch procedure based on the type of signal received.
Canceling a Silent Alarm
If you triggered a Silent Alarm by mistake, touch the Cancel button that appears on the panel and enter a valid user code to cancel the signal. Canceling quickly can help avoid an unnecessary dispatch, though your monitoring provider may still call to verify before standing down, depending on their verification procedures.
