How Do I Turn Off Arm-Confirm on a 2GIG GC3 Alarm System?

You can turn off Arm-Confirm on a 2GIG GC3 Alarm System by adjusting Question 19 in Panel Programming. By disabling this option, the panel will no longer emit a loud tone whenever you Arm or Disarm using a security key fob. The settings must be saved for any changes to go into effect.

2gig gc3 diy wireless security system w slash 7 screenWhen a user Arms or Disarms their GC3 System using a key fob when Arm-Confirm is enabled, the panel will produce a loud, brief tone. This Arm-Confirm tone serves a specific purpose on the GC3 System. It lets the user know that the Arming or Disarming command went through successfully.

Since the user is using a key fob, they probably aren't looking directly at the panel for visual indication of Arming or Disarming. The Arm-Confirm tone provides a secondary way of informing them that they have changed their system's current arming status. Once they hear the tone, they will know for certain that the command went through, without having to actually look at the panel.

While the Arm-Confirm tone can be be very useful, some users may want to turn it off. They might find the tone to be annoying. They might also want to be able to Arm and Disarm more discreetly and avoid disturbing others in the building. That is why 2GIG made it possible to disable the Arm-Confirm setting.
