How Do I Turn Off Trouble Beeps on the IQ Panel 5?
To turn off Trouble Beeps on the IQ Panel 5, go to Advanced Settings, enter the Installer Code, touch Sound, then find the Trouble Beeps section and turn off Trouble Beeps. The setting is disabled by default, and EN Grade 2 installations need it enabled. It covers all trouble beeps.
What Trouble Beeps Are
The IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) can beep to tell you about a trouble condition. The Trouble Beeps setting in the Sound menu is the master switch for those beeps. It toggles all sensor and panel trouble beeps on or off, so it covers sensor low battery beeps, sensor tamper beeps, and panel tamper beeps, along with PowerG siren and RF jam trouble beeps.
The setting controls only the sound. It decides whether the panel beeps for these troubles, and it does not change the trouble conditions themselves.
The Default Setting
Trouble Beeps is disabled by default, and so are all the individual trouble beeps. If your panel is beeping for a sensor or panel trouble, the setting was turned on, or the system is set up for EN Grade 2, where the manual says to set Trouble Beeps to Enabled. Turning it off keeps the panel quiet while your security system continues to watch every sensor.
Before You Start
You need the Installer Code, which is 1111 by default, or the Dealer Code, 2222. The Sound menu is in the Installer menu. Check whether the system must meet EN Grade 2 before you turn the setting off, since the manual says to enable it for those installations.
How to Turn Off Trouble Beeps
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen. This opens the Settings Tray with quick controls.
2. Touch Settings. This opens the main Settings page.
3. Touch Advanced Settings. This prompts you to enter a code before continuing.

4. Enter the Installer Code. The default Installer Code is 1111. The Dealer Code, 2222, also works. The panel opens the Installer menu as soon as the code is entered.
5. Touch Sound. Sound is in the Installer menu, not under Installation.

6. Find the Trouble Beeps section. It is below the voice and chime settings. Trouble Beeps is the first setting in the section.
7. Turn off Trouble Beeps. It is disabled by default. Turn it off if it was enabled.
What Changes After You Turn It Off
The panel stops sounding for sensor and panel troubles. A low battery, a sensor tamper, or a panel tamper no longer produces a beep. The trouble conditions are still there, so check the panel for messages and status periodically, since the beep is no longer reminding you.
What Stays On
The Fire and Life Safety Device Trouble Beeps setting is separate, and it is enabled by default. With it on, the panel still sounds a trouble alert when a fire safety device is tampered, failed, or has a low battery. A second setting, Mute Fire and Life Safety Device Trouble Beeps, is disabled by default and mutes those beeps during Nighttime Mode when you enable it.
Related Trouble Beep Settings
The same section holds the individual switches. Sensor Low Battery, Sensor Tamper Beeps, and Panel Tamper Beeps each decide whether their own condition sounds, and Edit Trouble Beep Chimes sets the chime type for all three. PowerG Siren Trouble Beeps and RF Jam Trouble Beeps cover those two conditions. Trouble Beeps Timeout sets the time between each trouble beep, from 3 to 60 minutes, with 30 minutes as the default.
If You Need EN Grade 2
For EN Grade 2 installations, the manual says to set Trouble Beeps to Enabled and to set the Trouble Beeps Timeout to 3 minutes. Do not turn the setting off on a system that must meet that standard. Turn it off only when your system does not need to meet it.
How to Turn Trouble Beeps Back On
To turn the beeps back on, repeat the same steps and switch Trouble Beeps on again. The panel then sounds for sensor and panel troubles, using the chime types you selected.
For complete protection, consider adding professional monitoring and home automation devices to your system.
