How Do I Turn On the Night Light on the IQ Panel 5 System?

About Night Light Mode

Night Light mode keeps the IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) screen dim at night, so a wall-mounted panel does not light up a hallway or bedroom. It is one of the display options on the panel, letting you keep your security system from being too bright after dark. It changes only the appearance of the screen and does not affect how the system arms, disarms, or protects your home.

You will find Night Light mode in the Display settings, on the same Settings page as brightness, font size, Dark Mode, and adaptive brightness. Because these are display preferences rather than programming, you can turn Night Light mode on or off any time without an access code. It takes effect on its own, keeping the screen soft and dim during nighttime hours.

Before You Begin

No code is required, since Night Light mode is part of the Display settings on the quick Settings page rather than in Advanced Settings. This is a display-only change, so it does not affect any of your system's security functions. You can turn it on to try it and switch it back off just as easily if you prefer.

Turn On the Night Light

1. Swipe down and touch Settings. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Settings Tray, then touch SETTINGS to open the quick Settings page.

2. Touch Display. On the Settings page, touch DISPLAY to open the panel's appearance and screen options.

3. Enable Night Light mode. Find Night Light mode and turn it on. The panel keeps the screen dim at night from here on, and you can turn it back off in the same place any time.

Tips

Night Light mode pairs well with adaptive brightness, which is in the same Display menu and dims the screen automatically based on the light in the room. If you want the panel to look darker at all times rather than just at night, you can also turn on Dark Mode, and the two can be used together. The Display menu is also where you adjust overall brightness and font size if the screen is still brighter than you would like.
