How Do I Turn On the Status LED on the IQ Panel 5 System?

To turn on the Status LED on the IQ Panel 5, swipe down from the top of the screen and touch Settings. On the Settings page, touch Display, then enable the Status LED slider so the LED lights up. No code is needed, since Display is one of the panel's simple quick settings you can change here.

About the Status LED

The Status LED is the small indicator light on the IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) that gives you an at-a-glance sense of the panel's state without waking the screen. Some people like having it lit as a visible sign the panel is active, while others prefer it off in a bedroom. Turning it on is a display preference and does not change how your security system arms, disarms, or protects your home.

The control for it is the Status LED slider, found in the Display settings on the same Settings page as brightness, Dark Mode, and Night Light mode. Because these are display preferences rather than programming, you can turn the Status LED on or off any time without an access code. The change takes effect right away.

Before You Begin

No code is required, since the Status LED slider is part of the Display settings on the quick Settings page rather than in Advanced Settings. This is a display-only change that does not affect any of your system's security functions. There is also a separate installer-level LED Indicator setting, but for everyday use the Display slider is all you need.

Tips

If you want the panel to warn you specifically about power problems, there is a Power Off Indicator option in the panel's programming that makes the Status LED flash orange during a power failure. The Status LED slider sits in the same Display menu as Dark Mode and Night Light mode, so you can fine-tune the whole look of the panel in one place. If the light ever seems stuck off even after enabling the slider, the installer-level LED Indicator setting may have been disabled.

Turning on the Status LED on the IQ Panel 5 gives you a quick visual cue of the panel's state without lighting up the whole screen.
