How Do I Turn the Panel Camera On or Off on the IQ Panel 5?

To turn the panel camera on or off on the IQ Panel 5, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and enter your Installer Code. Next, touch Installation, then Camera Settings, and toggle Panel Camera on or off. Turning it off disables all of the panel's camera photos and videos.

About the Panel Camera

The IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) has a built-in camera that captures disarm photos, alarm photos, alarm videos, and settings photos. The Panel Camera setting is the master switch for all of it. When you disable Panel Camera, every one of those camera functions turns off and the Panel Camera Page is removed from the screen, which is useful if you would rather your security system not use the camera at all.

Turning it back on restores the camera functions and the Panel Camera Page. If you only want to stop one type of capture rather than the whole camera, the same Camera Settings menu has individual toggles, so you can leave the camera on but turn off just disarm photos, for example. The master Panel Camera toggle is the one to use when you want everything off at once.

Before You Begin

Camera Settings are in the Installation menu, which requires the Installer Code (1111 by default) or Dealer Code (2222 by default). By default the Master Code cannot reach these image settings, so use the Installer Code. The Panel Camera is enabled out of the box, so unless you have changed it, you will be turning it off here.

Turn the Panel Camera On or Off

1. Swipe down and touch Settings. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Settings Tray, then touch SETTINGS.

2. Touch Advanced Settings and enter your Installer Code. Touch ADVANCED SETTINGS, then enter your Installer Code (1111 by default). The Dealer Code (2222) works here too. The panel advances automatically after a valid code.

3. Touch Installation, then Camera Settings. Touch INSTALLATION, then open CAMERA SETTINGS to reach the panel's camera options.

4. Toggle Panel Camera. Find the Panel Camera setting and toggle it off to disable the camera, or on to enable it. Turning it off removes the Panel Camera Page and stops all camera photos and videos.

Tips

If you like the camera overall but want to limit it, the individual toggles in Camera Settings let you turn off just Disarm Photos, Alarm Photos, Alarm Videos, or Settings Photos while leaving the rest on.
