How Do I Turn the Standby Button On or Off on IQ Panel 5?
To turn the standby button on or off on the IQ Panel 5, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and enter your Installer Code. Next, touch Installation, then Installer Settings, and scroll down to the General section to enable or disable the side wake and sleep button now.
About the Standby Button
The standby button is the physical button on the side of the IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) that wakes the screen or puts it to sleep. It is enabled by default, so a quick press turns the display on or off without changing anything about how the system is armed. This setting lets you decide whether that side button on your security system stays active or is disabled entirely.
When the setting is on, anyone can press the button to wake or sleep the panel. When it is off, the button no longer puts the panel into standby, and the screen is controlled through the touchscreen and the panel's normal timeout behavior instead. The toggle lives in the General section of Installer Settings.
Why Would You Turn It Off?
Most people leave the standby button on, but there are good reasons to disable it. In a business, rental, or other high-traffic space, disabling the button stops passersby from putting the panel to sleep or blanking the screen, so it always shows the armed status and stays ready. It also prevents accidental presses in spots where the panel is mounted somewhere the side of the unit gets bumped. For a panel you want to behave predictably and stay awake, turning off the standby button removes one easy way for someone to interfere with it.
Before You Begin
This setting is in the Installer Settings, which require the Installer Code (1111 by default) or Dealer Code (2222 by default). The steps below use the Installer Code. The standby button is enabled out of the box, so unless it has been changed, you will be turning it off here.

Tips
Disabling the standby button does not affect the touchscreen or the panel's normal screen timeout, so the display still sleeps and wakes on its own the way it always has. If you disable it and later want quick manual control of the screen back, just return to this General section and turn it on again. In most homes, leaving it enabled is fine, since the convenience of a quick wake or sleep outweighs the small chance of an accidental press.
