How Do I View the Event History on the 2GIG GC Touch Panel?
To view event history on the 2GIG GC Touch, tap the Events icon (≡) in the bottom navigation bar on the Home screen. No access code is required to open this page. The Event log records all system activity including arming, disarming, alarm triggers, trouble conditions, and bypassed zones.

The 2GIG GC Touch records all alarm and status events in an onboard log. This includes arming and disarming activity, alarm triggers, trouble alerts, and bypassed zones. The event log helps you track who used the security system and when events took place. Unlike other settings menus, the Events page is opened from the Home screen without entering any codes.
Follow these steps to view event history on the 2GIG GC Touch:
- Tap the Events icon. Find the Events button (≡) in the bottom navigation bar of the Home screen. The icon looks like three horizontal lines stacked together. Tapping this opens the Event page directly.
- Review the event list. The screen shows all recorded events in reverse order with the most recent entries at the top. Each entry shows four pieces of data: date, time, source, and what happened.
- Filter by event type. Tap the dropdown arrow next to All in the upper right corner. Pick the event type you want to view. Options include All, Alarm, Arm/Disarm, Trouble, and Bypass. For details on what each filter shows, see the explanation below these steps.
Understanding Event Log Entries:
Each log entry gives specific details about what happened and when. The date and time stamp shows when the event took place. The source column tells you if the event came from a user, the system, or a sensor. The description explains the action, such as Change Mode to Disarm or End of Exit Delay.
Using Event Filters:
The filter options help you find specific types of events fast. Filtering by Alarm shows only events that set off an alarm. The Arm/Disarm filter shows all arming and disarming activity, which is useful for checking who accessed the alarm panel and when. Trouble events show sensor problems, low batteries, and signal failures. The Bypass filter shows any zones that were excluded before arming.
Accessing Extended History:
The panel stores a limited number of events in its local memory. Older entries are removed as new ones are added. For a longer history, check your Alarm.com account if your system has active monitoring service. The Alarm.com app and website store event data in the cloud and keep records for a longer period.
Checking the event log on a regular basis helps spot patterns and problems. Frequent trouble events from the same sensor may require a look at sensor placement. Multiple failed arming attempts could point to a zone that needs attention as part of your home automation setup.
The 2GIG GC Touch event history provides a clear record of all system activity without requiring an access code. Use the filter options to find specific event types quickly.
