How Loud Is a Siren On A Honeywell L5200 Alarm System?

There is a single 85dB built in speaker in the Lynx Touch L5200 panel. If you find this is too loud, you can lower the alarm sound by going into programming and set the “enable/disable the sounder” to off. When set to off, audible alarms will sound the same as the auxiliary alarm sound which is a slightly lower db rating but a higher pitched tone. When you set the sounder to on any alarm that activates the sire, the volume will be 85db.

If you feel it’s not loud enough and really want to wake up the entire neighborhood you can install one of Honeywell’s exterior sirens. If you chose to install an exterior siren you will also need a Lynx-EXT to convert the hardwired siren to wireless. Please check your city ordinance before installing any exterior siren.

A Lynx Touch L5200 panel is an awesome choice when it comes to security systems. It is very easy to install and the icons are easy to understand. The Lynx Touch L5200 has a 4.7” color graphic touchscreen, WiFi and ZWave capable. One (1) hardwire zone, sixty-four (64) wireless programmable zones and sixteen (16) dedicated key fob zones. I’ve only touched on some of the features, to see more, you can view L5200. You will see why we think a Honeywell Lynx Touch L5200 is a wise choice.
