The Qolsys IQ Panel 5 is a powerful security system that provides comprehensive arming options through its intuitive touchscreen interface. The main arming screen displays your current sensor status and provides quick access to Arm Stay and Arm Away modes. Touch the arrows on the right side of the screen to access additional options.

Arming Modes

Arm Stay: Arm Stay mode arms all perimeter sensors including doors and windows while leaving interior motion sensors inactive. Use this mode when you are staying home and want to protect entry points without triggering alarms as you move around inside. Touch the Arm Stay icon on the arming screen to activate.

Arm Away: Arm Away mode activates all sensors including perimeter doors, windows, and interior motion detectors. Use this mode when leaving the premises and no one will be inside. Touch the Arm Away icon on the arming screen and exit before the countdown timer expires.

No-Entry Arming: No-Entry arming removes the entry delay from all configured zones, creating an instant alarm if any sensor is triggered. This provides maximum security when you do not plan to re-enter through a protected door. Access this option through the additional arming menu by touching the arrows on the arming screen.

Night Arm: Night Arm mode provides additional protection when you are home by arming specific interior zones designated for nighttime protection. This is useful for arming motion sensors in unoccupied areas of your home at night while keeping sensors inactive in areas where you might move around.

Accessing Arming Options

Touch the lock icon on the home screen to access the main arming interface. The sensor list on the right shows all open or active sensors. Touch the arrows icon to expand additional arming options including bypass, exit sounds, and entry delay. You can also arm the system using a paired keyfob, the Alarm.com app, or through voice commands if you have a compatible smart speaker connected.

Additional Arming Options

Bypass: Bypass allows you to exclude specific sensors from the armed system. This is useful when a sensor is malfunctioning or a window needs to remain open. Touch the circle next to a sensor in the bypass list to exclude it from the current arming period.

Entry Delay: Entry delay gives you time to disarm the system after opening a designated entry door. The default entry delay is 30 seconds. You can disable entry delay for instant alarm protection, but you must disarm before opening any protected door.

Exit Sounds: Exit sounds are the beeps that occur during the exit delay countdown. You can silence these beeps before arming if you prefer a quiet exit. The default exit delay is 60 seconds.

Auto Bypass: When Auto Bypass is enabled, the system automatically bypasses any open or tampered sensors during arming. This allows the system to arm even when a zone is faulted. A bypass warning displays during the exit delay. This feature is enabled by default but can be disabled for commercial installations.

Auto Stay: Auto Stay automatically changes the arming mode from Away to Stay if no entry or exit door is opened during the exit delay. The system assumes you are still home and adjusts protection accordingly.
