The Log Levels for the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus include No Log Output, Fatal, Error, Warn, Info, Debug and Verbose. In some cases, it may be necessary to change the system Log Level to perform a Firmware Update. These same system Log Levels also apply to the original Qolsys IQ Panel 2.

Qolsys iq panel 2 verizon 7 security panel w slash z wave ready When a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 or IQ Panel 2 Plus is used for alarm monitoring service, the user has the ability to enable System Logs. The purpose of these System Logs is to have the panel send information to the monitoring servers for troubleshooting and bug identification purposes. Since Alarm.com is the monitoring platform used with the IQ Panel 2, the information will be sent to the Alarm.com servers. Alarm.com then passes the information to Qolsys so that their developers and programmers can work to improve the panel.

The information sent through System Logs cannot be used to identify the end user in any sort of way. It is only useful for Qolsys developers and programmers who are working to improve upon the system. This information plays a big part in helping the Qolsys team develop new firmware updates available for the IQ Panel 2 and IQ Panel 2 Plus. New firmware releases will often include stability fixes that correct serious errors and bugs that may have previously occurred on the system.

For the System Logs feature, there are various Log Levels that can be selected. These Log Levels determine how much non-identifying information is sent to the Alarm.com servers for troubleshooting and bug identification purposes. This setting can be adjusted at any time. In some cases, it may be necessary to change the Log Level to a particular setting before a firmware update can be performed. For example, Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus Firmware Update 2.5.2 requires a Log Level of Verbose before an end user can apply the update by using a patch tag and downloading from the network. This does not apply if the update is pushed down from the Alarm.com servers.

In order to find the Log Level setting, click the small grey bar at the top of the main screen, and choose Settings > Advanced Settings > Installer Code (default 1111) > Installation > System Logs > Log Level.
