What Are the Specifications of the IQ5 NS?

Display and Interface

The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) The IQ5 NS has no display. You set it up and manage it through the IQ Installer app and your Alarm.com account. It has 2 Status LEDs, with Green for disarmed and Red for armed, using triple full color RGB LEDs. A single hard button handles pairing and the announcements of troubles and alarms in memory.

Processor, Software, and Storage

The IQ5 NS runs on a Qualcomm Dragonwing quad core System on a Module with 32 GB of NAND flash for internal storage. The platform is Android 14.

Connectivity

Wi-Fi is 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual band at 2.4 and 5 GHz, with built-in access point capability. Cellular is LTE CAT4 on bands 2/25, 4/66, 5/26, 7, 12/17, 13, and 14, excluding FirstNet. Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 is built in.

Wireless Devices and Capacity

The Z-Wave module is an 800 series with Z-Wave Long Range and supports up to 167 devices. PowerG automation supports up to 100 devices. PowerG+ security supports up to 128 devices on 915 MHz, with long range, secure, encrypted two-way wireless. Security RF supports up to 128 devices and, depending on the model, uses S-Line encrypted 319.5 MHz, 345 MHz, or 433 MHz.

The IQ5 NS supports up to 4 partitions and up to 242 users.

Camera and Audio

It has 1 front-facing 2 watt speaker with an 85 dB piezo siren. Its spec sheet lists no camera or microphone.

Power and Battery

Power comes from an AC/DC external plug-in adapter with a 12 V DC, 1000 mA output and a 100 to 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz input, connected through a barrel jack. The adapter was evaluated at 120 VAC for UL and cUL. The battery is an 18650 lithium-ion cell rated at 3,000 mAh.

Size, Mounting, and Tamper

The IQ5 NS measures 6.1 inches high by 7.5 inches wide by 1 inch deep (155 mm by 191 mm by 26 mm). It weighs 0.9 kg (2 lb) packaged. A SmartMount wall mount is included, and the SmartMount table stand is sold separately. A dual panel and wall tamper switch with spring release protects against removal.

Operating and Storage Conditions

Operating conditions are 0 C to 49 C (32 F to 120 F) with up to 93 percent relative humidity, for indoor, dry, ordinary locations only. Storage is -20 C to 50 C (-4 F to 122 F), which is not evaluated by UL or ULC.

Certifications and Part Numbers

The IQ5 NS is listed as a UL and cUL residential fire and burglary alarm control unit and a UL and ULC commercial burglary alarm control unit for your security system. It complies with UL985, UL1023, UL2610, ULC-S545, and ULC-S304. Part numbers are IQN5017 for the US on Verizon, IQN5018 for the US and Canada on AT&T, and IQN5020 for Canada on Telus.
