COVID-19 Alert To DIYers: COVID-19 has severely affected supplier inventory. Product availability, at the moment, is in flux. If you order today, depending on the product, there may be a significant delay in shipping it to you. We apologize for any delays, and assure you that products will be shipped as soon as we can get them. Before COVID, we had significant stock of nearly every popular product that we sell. But demand has outpaced our supplier's ability to meet it, and has exhausted the stock we had purchased to meet increased demand during the government-mandated lockdowns. If you need the product right away, it is unlikely we will be able to accommodate you. For that we apologize. We ask for your patience as we all navigate this unique situation together. Be nice to our employees, they are doing their best to answer your questions and get your product to you as quickly as they can.
Regarding Shipping: Like our suppliers, shipping companies have been deeply affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. Please understand, at the moment, shipping speeds are varying from their promised times. While we ship most items promptly, UPS and USPS, are often not getting products to our customers within the promised timeframe. We are unable to offer refunds for slower shipping at the moment, as this is not within our control. We pay for the shipping speed requested, and, at the moment, our shipping partners are unable to meet their own standards of speed and reliability (this is true of overnight as well) We apologize for this, but can't do anything about it. Please be aware, however, that shipping speeds still matter. While 3-day shipping may, sometimes mean 4-day shipping, it will still be faster than Ground. If you need your product quickly, please choose faster shipping, as it will be faster. But do not expect to get the product in the expected timeframe.
To installers: We have seen an uptick in orders from individuals we suspect to be professional installers. If you are here to get product quickly because you are unable to get the product at your usual supplier, rest assured, we are also out of the product and won't be able to fulfill your order in a timely manner. Like our end-users, we will be delivering products as soon as we get them in.
Why Is the Installer Toolbox Icon Grayed Out On My 2GIG GC3?
The Installer Toolbox icon is grayed out on your 2GIG GC3 because the system is Armed. When your 2GIG GC3 System is in an Armed state, you are not able to access the Installer Toolbox, so the option is grayed out. You will be able to access the Installer Toolbox after you Disarm the system.
On a 2GIG GC3, the Installer Toolbox is basically the programming menu for the system. You access the Installer Toolbox to make changes to the system's settings. In order to access this menu, you must have the Installer Code for the system (default 1561), and the system must be in a Disarmed state. If you try to enter the menu while the system is Armed by choosing System Settings > Master Code or Installer Code > Installer Toolbox, nothing will happen when you click on the grayed out icon. Additionally, if you click on the 2GIG logo in the upper-right corner of the main screen while the system is Armed, then nothing will happen. The 2GIG logo is another (quicker) way to access the Installer Toolbox. Both Armed Stay and Armed Away modes will prevent you from accessing the Installer Toolbox.
You also won't be able to access the 2GIG GC3 Installer Toolbox while the system is in Alarm. When an Alarm occurs on the system, there will be a numeric keypad on the panel. You will not be able to do anything on the system until you provide a valid code (not the Installer Code) to clear the Alarm. This includes navigating the system menus so that you can access the Installer Toolbox. If you find yourself in a situation where you cannot access the Installer Toolbox, either because the system is Armed and you can't Disarm it, or because the system is in Alarm and you do not have a code to clear it, then power cycling the system will not help you. If you try to fully power down the system and then power it back up, it will still be Armed or in the Alarm mode so that you cannot access the Installer Toolbox. You will need to Disarm the system or clear the Alarm with a valid code so that you can enter into the Installer Toolbox section.
