Why Does Nothing Happen When I Click Programming on L7000?

The following steps should be followed to enter programming on a Honeywell Lynx Touch L7000, press Security > More > Tools from the main touchscreen > enter the installer code, Honeywell's default installer code is 4112 > press program. This should bring up the system programming menu which shows Installer Code, Date Time, Zones, Keys, System Type, Communicator, Comm. Diagnostics, Reporter > press the down arrow at the right and the 2nd page of the menu should show Sounder, Default Configuration, Reset Master Code, System Settings and Zwave. The house button should be blinking (alternating) green and red and the panic button should be constant red.

There are a few reasons why nothing happens when clicking programming on a Honeywell Lynx Touch L7000:

Make sure the installer code is being used. The installer code and master code are very different. Only the installer code will allow users to enter programming. If the Tools icon is pressed and the master code is entered, this brings up a different menu: Users, Events, Test, Keypad, Date Time, Reminders and Slideshow, Programming will not be an option.

Another option that will keep users from re-enter programming, is if "Yes" was not selected the last time someone exited programming. ALWAYS, press "YES" when exiting programming and prompted to "Allow Installer to Re-enter Program?" Pressing "NO" will exit, and prevent re-entry.

If the panel was monitored previously by a monitoring company, it could be the company locked users out of programming.

Please refer to our FAQ “How Do I Get Into L7000 Programming If I’m Locked Out” - this FAQ provides instructions on how to power cycle, enter programming, and if necessary, change the installer code.

If the installer code cannot be changed and entry to programming is still blocked, the Honeywell Lynx Touch L7000 may need to be replaced.
