Will Honeywell 5800 Sensors Work on a Qolsys IQ Panel 2?

Honeywell 5800 Sensors will only work on a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 if you are using the 345 MHz version of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. This is the system that comes in a silver and white box. No other version of the IQ Panel 2 can support Honeywell Sensors. This includes the original IQ Panel 2.

Like most wireless panels, all versions of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 come with an integrated wireless receiver. This makes these systems compatible with wireless security sensors. The original Qolsys IQ Panel 2 is designed to support 319.5 MHz sensors. This is the wireless frequency used by Qolsys and Interlogix security sensors. With that 319.5 MHz receiver, the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 will be unable to support Honeywell 5800 Series Sensors.

But if you have the 345 MHz version of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus, then the system will be able to support Honeywell 5800 Series Sensors. This makes that system a great option for Honeywell users who want to upgrade to a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus, while still being able to use their existing. Additionally, the 345 MHz version will also be able to support 2GIG wireless sensors. However, it will not support Honeywell SiX Series Sensors, as they do not operate on the 345 MHz frequency. Additionally, the 345 MHz IQ Panel 2 Plus can also support PowerG Sensors. All Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus Systems can support PowerG Sensors, regardless of which version is being used. However, the original non-Plus Qolsys IQ Panel 2 System can not support PowerG Sensors. That system can only support 319.5 MHz sensors.

There is one very important note about the 345 MHz version of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. If that version is being used, then the 319.5 MHz sensors that were used with the original Qolsys IQ Panel 2 cannot be used. Therefore, the user will need to decide whether they want their IQ Panel 2 to support 345 MHz sensors or 319.5 MHz sensors. Qolsys also offers a version of the IQ Panel 2 Plus that supports the 433 MHz legacy DSC Sensors, in addition to the higher frequency 915 MHz PowerG Sensors. You cannot easily swap out the wireless receivers for these systems, so the decision regarding which wireless sensors to use will need to be made prior to purchasing the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. The panel purchased will come with the receiver for the wireless technology already installed.

Yes the 5800rp is a plug and play device, and doesn't even need to be added to the IQ2.
Does the 345 model allow use of the 5800RP repeater? Qolsys tech support says no "its not on the compatibility list" but in theory it should work, and it is on the same frequency
