The Honeywell LTE-L57V is a Verizon LTE cellular communicator for the LYNX Touch. The radio requires firmware revision 9 or higher, which is only available on the L5210 and L7000 LYNX Touch panels. These systems both offer free remote flash upgrades once they are enrolled with the Honeywell AlarmNet servers that host Total Connect 2.0.
LTE stands for Long-Term Evolution, and the technology represents the latest and most advanced offering in 4G cellular communication. The Verizon LTE network is known for its excellent speeds and reliability. This makes the LTE-L57V is optimal choice for anyone who wants to obtain cellular connectivity for their LYNX Touch L5210 or L7000 Alarm System.
As cellular communication becomes increasingly powerful and more advanced, older networks are continuously being discontinued and no longer supported. The 2G cellular networks are already gone for the most part, and Verizon's 3G CDMA network is in its final years as well. By going with LTE communication, you can be sure that your panel will receive fast and reliable cellular connectivity for many years into the future. This makes the LTE-L57V a true long-term investment and not just a short-term fix to get your system monitored.
As you may already know, cellular communication provides many benefits for alarm systems. This type of communication is incredibly fast, and any signal that is sent out by system will be received by the AlarmNet servers in a prompt manner. AlarmNet will then forward any alerts to a central station or the end user immediately. Cellular communication is also extremely reliable. The connection cannot be physically tampered with, and communication is not affected by power outages. Cellular service is almost always readily available, and it is nearly unheard of for it to be down. All of this makes the LTE-L57V the best way to ensure that your LYNX Touch System is monitored at all times.
Please note that the L5210 and L7000 Systems will need to be on firmware version 9 in order to support this module. This firmware version can be applied via a free flash upgrade. An L5210 or L7000 System will need to have an already active communication path before it can be upgraded to this firmware version. Since the LTE-L57V will not be active when it is first added, the system cannot be upgraded to firmware version 9 using this module. Please note that any newly purchased L5210 or L7000 System should already be on firmware version 9 and able to support the LTE-L57V.
