Description

The Honeywell Tuxedo Touch is a talking color graphic touchscreen alarm keypad that can be used as an alarm keypad with any Honeywell VISTA Series security system or as a standalone Z-Wave controller, camera viewer and digital picture frame. You can also take advantage of all the great functions of the Tuxedo Touch at once.

The Honeywell Tuxedo Touch can be used as a talking color graphic touchscreen alarm keypad with a VISTA security system by addressing it to one of the available AUI device addresses. Depending on which VISTA security system you have, you will be able to install anywhere from 2-6 Tuxedo Touch alarm keypads. The Tuxedo Touch has a brilliant 7” widescreen display with 800 x 480 resolution and 16 million colors. You will be able to control your Honeywell VISTA Series security system using the large graphic touchscreen icons. An intuitive menu driven navigation makes the Tuxedo Touch an extremely user friendly alarm keypad. The voice annunciation feature of the Tuxedo Touch uses plain English to alert you to any alarm or trouble signals. When an alarm is activated, the Tuxedo Touch will say which zone number was triggered and will also say the custom zone description if programmed. You can also use the family message center to record important messages for your family. Whether it’s letting your kids know the chores they must complete when they come home from school or telling your spouse to pick up a carton of milk, you will find yourself using your Tuxedo Touch convenient message center daily.

The Honeywell Tuxedo Touch is more than a graphic touchscreen alarm keypad however. What sets the Tuxedo Touch apart from other graphic touchscreen keypads is the built-in Z-Wave controller. You can enroll up to (232) Z-Wave modules with a single Tuxedo Touch. Nearly every Z-Wave module available today is compatible with the Tuxedo Touch. You will be able to control your home’s lights, locks, thermostats and even electronic shades with a few taps of the graphic touchscreen display. You can even program up to (10) customized Z-Wave scenes that when triggered will activate multiple Z-Wave modules at once. Z-Wave scenes are a great way to manage your home’s energy costs. For instance, you can have a bedtime scene that locks your doors, turns off all your lights and raises your thermostat to a temperature that is perfect for while you are sleeping.

The Tuxedo Touch graphic touchscreen alarm keypad is also equipped with a web server which allows you to control your security system and home automation using any WiFi enabled device. Simply wire an Ethernet connection from your wireless router or modem to your Tuxedo Touch and you will be able to use any web browser, internet TV or iPhone, iPad, Blackberry or Android device within your home to arm or disarm your security system or turn your lights, locks, thermostats or shades on or off. If you have AlarmNet IP video surveillance cameras, you will even be able to view your IP cameras from the Tuxedo Touch or any of the internet enabled devices within your home.

Not only can you control your home security system and home automation using your Honeywell Tuxedo Touch alarm keypad, but you can also use it as a beautiful digital picture frame. Simply insert an SD card and you can create custom slideshows to impress your friends with pictures of your family vacations. You can even watch embedded training videos right from the alarm keypad if you need help with any of the great features available to you through the Tuxedo Touch.

Got this unit hard wired a year ago and I still cannot control any devices remotely i could only control through the local network which defeats the purpose of having this unit. My service provider is telling me they are waiting for some update from Honeywell. Been waiting for almost a year for this update and still waiting.

The weather issue is due to the way that Honeywell had it programmed to use a google API that has been removed. I am too waiting for the weather fix.

I still love the fact that I can arm and disarm my system without TotalConnect.
