How Do I Access the Installer Menu on the IQ Panel 5 System?

To access the Installer Menu on the IQ Panel 5, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings. Next, enter your Installer Code, which is 1111 by default, and the Installer Menu opens with options like Installation, System Tests, Sound, and WIFI for fully configuring the whole panel.

About the Installer Menu

The Installer Menu on the IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is the installer-level area of Advanced Settings, and you reach it by entering the Installer Code instead of the Master Code. It holds the deeper configuration options for your security system, including Installation for adding and editing devices, System Tests, Sound, WIFI, and more. This is where most setup and programming work happens.

The code you enter is what determines how much you see. The Master Code (1234 by default) opens a limited version of Advanced Settings, while the Installer Code (1111 by default) unlocks the full Installer Menu with the Installation and WIFI options. If you enter your code and do not see those options, you most likely used the Master Code, so back out and enter the Installer Code instead.

Before You Begin

You need the Installer Code, which is 1111 by default. Because that default is publicly known and grants deep access to the panel, it is a good idea to change it to something private; see our guide on how to change the Installer Code on the IQ Panel 5. The Dealer Code (2222 by default) also reaches this area and unlocks a few additional dealer-only options beyond the installer set.

Access the Installer Menu

  1. Swipe down and touch Settings. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Settings Tray, then touch SETTINGS.

Tips

From the Installer Menu, Installation is where you add, edit, and remove sensors and Z-Wave devices, while System Tests helps you check signal strength, cellular, and other diagnostics. Since this menu gives full control over the panel, keep the Installer Code private and avoid sharing it the way you might a user code. If you only need everyday tasks like adding a user code or checking status, the Master Code and its more limited Advanced Settings view are often all you need.
