How Do I Add a 2GIG Flood and Temp Sensor to the IQ Panel 5?

To add a 2GIG flood and temp sensor to the IQ Panel 5, install the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card first. Go to Advanced Settings, Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, and touch Auto Learn. The FT100-345 supports two zones — Loop 1 for flood detection and Loop 2 for temperature.

About the 2GIG-FT100-345

The IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is compatible with the 2GIG-FT100-345 flood and temperature sensor, a 345 MHz wireless device that monitors both water presence and temperature in the same unit. Because it operates on the 345 MHz frequency, the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card must be installed before enrollment. The FT100-345 has two separate inputs that are programmed as two independent zones. Loop 1 monitors for water using probe contacts on the base of the unit. Loop 2 monitors temperature and can trigger alerts when the temperature rises above or drops below a set threshold.

Each loop is enrolled separately as its own sensor zone on the security system. For the flood zone, use Group 38 (Water Sensor) to report water detection to the central station, or Group 25 (Water Non-Reporting) for a local alert only. For the temperature zone, use Group 52 (Low Temp) to alert on cold conditions or Group 53 (High Temp) to alert on heat. Both zones are always active regardless of arming state. With a monitoring plan, alerts reach the central station for prompt notification.

Step 1: Enroll Loop 1 — Flood Detection

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch Settings. The Settings page opens.

2. Touch Advanced Settings and enter the Installer Code (1111 by default). The Advanced Settings menu opens.

3. Touch Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, then Auto Learn Sensor. The panel enters listening mode.

4. Press the tamper button on the FT100-345 to send a signal. The panel chimes and displays the DL ID. Source shows SRF345.

5. Touch OK, set Loop to 1, Sensor Type to Environmental, choose Sensor Group 38 or 25, add a name, and touch Add New. Use Group 38 to report water to the central station, or Group 25 for local alert only. Name it something like Water Heater Flood or Basement Flood and touch Add New.

Step 2: Enroll Loop 2 — Temperature Alert

1. Return to Auto Learn Sensor and press the tamper button again. The panel detects the same DL ID and opens the configuration screen again.

2. Set Loop to 2, Sensor Type to Environmental, choose Group 52 or 53, add a name, and touch Add New. Use Group 52 (Low Temp) for cold alerts such as a freezer or unheated space, or Group 53 (High Temp) for heat alerts. Name it something like Basement Temp or Attic Temp and touch Add New. The FT100-345 is now enrolled as two separate sensor zones.

After Adding the Sensor

After both loops are enrolled, test the flood zone by briefly shorting the metal probe contacts on the base of the unit to confirm the panel responds. Place the sensor flat on the floor with the probe contacts facing down in the location most vulnerable to water. Both zones are always active and cannot be bypassed. Add a monitoring plan so water and temperature alerts reach the central station whenever you are away.
