How Do I Add a 2GIG PAD1-345 Keypad On a 2GIG Go!Control?

You can add a 2GIG PAD1-345 Keypad on a 2GIG Go!Control by navigating through Question 4 of system programming. This is the section for enrolling new keypads and configuring their settings. The GC2 System can support up to four keypads. No additional hardware is needed for the PAD1-345.

The steps below assume that the PAD1-345 is receiving power and is communicating properly. Complete the following steps to add a PAD1-345 Keypad to a 2GIG GC2:

1. Enter programming. Start from the main screen of the 2GIG GC2. Press the 2GIG button in the lower-right corner. Then enter in the Installer Code. The default Installer Code is 1561. Choose System Configuration in the upper-right corner. This will put the GC2 into programming.

2. Configure the settings. You must go through the settings to enroll and configure the PAD1-345. Start by pressing the Go To button in in the center of the screen towards the left. Enter 04. This will take you to Question 4 for enrolling and configuring a keypad. Please note you will use the right and left arrows to scroll through possible selections. You will then use the down arrow to go to the next available setting. You can use the up arrow to return to the previous selection if you make a mistake.

First choose the keypad slot you want to use. There are four slots available. You can have one keypad per slot. Continue after making your selection.

Set the keypad to (1) Enabled.

Choose the option (0867) PAD1-345 for Equipment Code.

When you get to Enter RF Keypad Serial Number, you will auto-enroll the keypad. Press the Shift button at the bottom of the screen. Then choose Learn on the left side of the screen. The system will enter its wireless enrollment mode for enrolling a keypad. Briefly turn your attention to the PAD1-345 Keypad. Press and hold one of the panic buttons (police or fire) on the keypad. The GC2 System should recognize the transmission. Press OK on the GC2 to continue. Then press the down arrow to move on to the next available setting.

You can choose either New or Existing for Equipment Age. This will not affect keypad performance.

Set Emergency Keys to Enabled or Disabled. We recommend setting them to Enabled.

Create a Voice Descriptor for the keypad. This the voice the GC2 System will annunciate if it needs to mention the keypad at some point. You can learn about Voice Descriptors on pages 38 and 39 of the 2GIG GC2 Programming Guide.

3. Save your changes. On the following screen, press the Edit Next button. Then choose the End button, which is found in the bottom-right corner. Make sure the box labeled "Save Changes" is marked. The panel will begin the reboot process to apply the changes. The keypad should function properly after the reboot is complete.
