How Do I Add a Z-Wave Lock to the IQ5 NS Security System?

To add a Z-Wave lock to the IQ5 NS, open the IQ Installer app on your mobile device and connect to the panel. Navigate to Automation Devices, select Add Device, then Autolearn Z-Wave, and touch Start Autolearn. Put your lock in pairing mode, and the app detects and enrolls it automatically.

Before You Begin

The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is a screenless security system panel that supports up to 20 Z-Wave door locks. All Z-Wave device enrollment on the IQ5 NS is done through the IQ Installer app. After enrollment, locks are controlled through the Alarm.com app. Install the lock according to the manufacturer's instructions and make sure it is within Z-Wave range of the panel before starting.

If the lock was previously paired with another Z-Wave controller, you will need to clear it first. In the IQ Installer app, navigate to Automation Devices, touch the three-dot menu, and select Clear Device. Put the lock in exclusion mode per the lock's manual to remove the previous pairing before attempting enrollment.
