How Do I Add an Indoor Camera to the IQ5 Hub Security Panel?

To add an indoor camera to the IQ5 Hub, connect the camera to your home WIFI and add it to your Alarm.com account through the Alarm.com website or app. Cameras connect via Alarm.com, not directly to the panel. Authorize it in Video Settings and it appears in the Live View page on the panel.

How Indoor Cameras Work With the IQ5 Hub

The IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) supports Live View for indoor cameras through Alarm.com. Compatible models include the ADC-V530 4MP Indoor Camera and the ADC-V523X Indoor Camera with Night Vision. Cameras connect to your home WIFI and register with Alarm.com — not directly to the panel. Once added and authorized, the Live View page displays live feeds from all authorized cameras. Live View supports up to 40 cameras.

Indoor cameras are useful for monitoring entry points, pets, family members, or package delivery areas. You need an Alarm.com monitoring plan that includes video features. Setup has two parts: adding the camera to Alarm.com, then authorizing it to stream to the panel in Video Settings.

Part 1: Add the Camera to Alarm.com

1. Place the indoor camera and connect it to your home WIFI. Follow the manufacturer's setup guide. A stable WIFI connection is required.

2. Log in to your Alarm.com account and navigate to Video. Select Add Camera or follow the prompts to register a new video device.

3. Follow the Alarm.com setup wizard to complete registration. The camera appears in your Alarm.com video list and app when done.

Part 2: Authorize the Camera to Stream to the Panel

1. In Alarm.com, navigate to Video Settings for your indoor camera. Log in to the Alarm.com website, go to Video, then Video Settings.

2. Enable authorization to stream to the panel. Toggle on Authorize all cameras to stream to panel. This tells Alarm.com to push the feed to the IQ5 Hub.

3. Swipe left from the IQ5 Hub home screen to reach the Live View page. The indoor camera appears in the camera list. Touch the camera name for a thumbnail, then touch play to go full screen.

Viewing and Managing Indoor Cameras

Once authorized, swipe left from the home screen to access Live View. Press and hold Talk to use two-way audio through cameras that support it. Touch the red X to exit full screen. Configure motion detection zones, clip recording, and privacy settings in Alarm.com Video Settings. Create home automation rules in Alarm.com such as triggering camera recordings when your security system is disarmed or when a door sensor opens.

Adding an indoor camera to your IQ5 Hub lets you monitor the inside of your home from the panel screen or from anywhere through the Alarm.com app on the IQ5 Hub.
