How Do I Arm the IQ5 NS Security System Using a PowerG Keyfob?
To arm the IQ5 NS with a keyfob, enroll a compatible PowerG keyfob such as the PG9929 or PG9939 through the IQ Installer app. Once enrolled, press and hold the Away arm or Stay arm button for two seconds to arm the system. Keyfob Instant Arming is enabled by default on the IQ5 NS.
What You Need
The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is a screenless security system panel that relies on keyfobs, keypads, and the Alarm.com app for arming and disarming. Compatible PowerG keyfob models include the PG9929 and PG9939. Each keyfob has dedicated buttons for Away arm, Stay arm, Disarm, and Panic. The keyfob must be enrolled through the IQ Installer app before it can be used to arm the system.
Keyfob Instant Arming is enabled by default on the IQ5 NS, so the system arms immediately when you press the arm button with no exit delay countdown. To arm, press and hold the Away or Stay button for two seconds. The IQ5 NS Status LED changes to solid red when the system is armed. You can adjust keyfob arming behavior through the IQ Installer app under Config, then Installation, then Security and Arming.
Step 1: Enroll the Keyfob
1. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the IQ5 NS panel. The Configuration menu opens in the app.

Keyfob Arming Settings
Keyfob arming settings on the IQ5 NS are configured through the IQ Installer app under Config, then Installation, then Security and Arming. Keyfob Instant Arming (enabled by default) arms the system immediately with no exit delay. Keyfob Disarming (enabled by default) allows the keyfob to disarm the system. Keyfob Alarm Disarm (disabled by default) allows the keyfob to disarm during an active alarm. You can also control the system through the Alarm.com app and add home automation devices for expanded control.
