How Do I Change PowerG Reporting Settings on the IQ5 Hub?

To change the PowerG reporting settings on the IQ5 Hub, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and enter your Installer Code. Next, touch Installation, then Installer Settings, and turn on Light Reporting or Temperature Reporting for your own supported PowerG sensors here.

What PowerG Reporting Does

Some PowerG sensors can do more than detect intrusion, measuring things like ambient light and temperature. The PowerG reporting settings on the IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) decide whether that extra data is sent to the panel and shown on screen. They are all disabled by default, so you only turn on the ones you want for your security system. Here is what each one does:

Setting Default What it does
Light Reporting Off PowerG devices with light-sensor capability report light status to the panel, and the data is stored for future use.
Temperature Reporting Off PowerG devices that measure temperature report it to the panel, and the reading is shown on the home screen.
Indoor Temp Reporting Off Pick a PowerG sensor whose temperature shows as the indoor reading on the home screen. Greyed out until Temperature Reporting is on.
Outdoor Temp Reporting Off Pick a PowerG sensor whose temperature shows as the outdoor reading on the home screen. Greyed out until Temperature Reporting is on.

The reason the Indoor and Outdoor Temperature Reporting options appear greyed out is that they only become available once Temperature Reporting is enabled. Turn that on first, and then you can assign which PowerG sensors supply the indoor and outdoor readings.

Before You Begin

These settings are in the Installer Settings, which require the Installer Code (1111 by default) or Dealer Code (2222 by default). The steps below use the Installer Code. You also need PowerG sensors that actually support light or temperature measurement for the data to appear, since a basic contact or motion sensor will not report these values.

Change the PowerG Reporting Settings

  1. Swipe down and touch Settings. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Settings Tray, then touch SETTINGS.

  2. Touch Advanced Settings and enter your Installer Code. Touch ADVANCED SETTINGS, then enter your Installer Code (1111 by default). The Dealer Code (2222) works here too. The panel advances automatically after a valid code.

  3. Touch Installation, then Installer Settings. Touch INSTALLATION, then open INSTALLER SETTINGS and find the PowerG reporting settings.

Open Installer Settings and find the PowerG reporting options.
  4. Turn on the reporting you want. Toggle Light Reporting or Temperature Reporting on. Once Temperature Reporting is on, the Indoor and Outdoor Temp Reporting options become available, where you select which PowerG sensor supplies each reading.

Turn on Light or Temperature Reporting, then assign sensors.

Tips

Temperature Reporting is the one to enable if you want live indoor and outdoor temperatures on the panel's home screen, since the indoor and outdoor options stay greyed out until it is on. Light Reporting works a little differently, storing light-status data for future use rather than displaying it prominently. If a setting still does nothing after enabling, double-check that the PowerG sensor you are relying on actually supports that measurement, as not all models include light or temperature sensing.

Changing the PowerG reporting settings on the IQ5 Hub lets you surface light and temperature data from your compatible sensors.
