How Do I Change the Supervision Settings on the IQ5 Hub?
To change the supervision settings on the IQ5 Hub, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and enter your Installer Code. Next, touch Installation, then Installer Settings, and set the Loss of Supervisory Signals option for the specific sensor type that you want to adjust.
What Supervision Does
Supervised sensors on the IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) send a periodic check-in signal so the panel knows they are still alive and in range. If a sensor stops checking in for longer than its supervision window, the panel reports a loss of supervision trouble, which usually points to a dead battery, a sensor out of range, or one that has been removed. The supervision settings let you choose how long the panel waits before flagging that trouble, and you can set a different window for each type of device on your security system.
There are five sensor supervision settings, each labeled Loss of Supervisory Signals for its device type. Here are the defaults and the time options for each:
Emergency sensors are your life-safety devices, like smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide detectors, while non-emergency sensors are your intrusion devices, like door, window, and motion sensors. The PowerG rows apply to those device types specifically, and the Z-Wave setting covers Z-Wave sirens.
Before You Begin
These settings are in the Installer Settings, which require the Installer Code (1111 by default) or Dealer Code (2222 by default). The steps below use the Installer Code. Certain UL and EN compliance standards require specific supervision windows, such as a 4-hour window for emergency sensors on UL fire installations, so check your requirements before changing these if your system must meet a standard.

Tips
A shorter supervision window means the panel flags a missing sensor sooner, which is good for catching a real problem quickly, but it can also produce a nuisance trouble if a sensor briefly drops out. A longer window is more forgiving but takes longer to alert you that a sensor has genuinely stopped reporting. The defaults work well for most homes. Remember that the cellular connection has its own separate Loss of Cell Signal Timeout, which is not part of these sensor supervision settings.
Changing the supervision settings on the IQ5 Hub lets you tune how quickly the panel reports a sensor that has stopped checking in.
