How Do I Check How Many Zones Are Used on My IQ5 Hub System?

To check how many zones are used on the IQ5 Hub, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and enter your Installer Code. Next, touch Installation, then Devices, then Security Sensors, and open Sensor Status to see each programmed sensor listed with its own Zone number here.

About Zones and the Sensor List

Every sensor you add to the IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) takes up one zone, and the panel supports up to 128 security RF and life-safety devices. The Sensor Status page is the easiest way to see what is in use, since it lists every programmed sensor with its Zone number, name, and current status. Counting the entries, or noting the highest Zone number in use, tells you how many zones are filled and how many remain on your security system.

This is handy before adding new equipment, so you can confirm you have not reached the 128-device limit, or when you are simply taking inventory of what is enrolled. Because it is a live status page, it also doubles as a quick way to see which sensors are currently open or closed. Checking it changes nothing on the panel.

Before You Begin

The Security Sensors area is in the Installation menu, which requires the Installer Code (1111 by default) or Dealer Code (2222 by default). The steps below use the Installer Code. The Master Code (1234 by default) can reach the security sensor functions too if it has been granted that access in the panel's settings. Viewing the list is read-only, so you can check it any time.

Tips

Zone numbers are assigned in the order sensors are added, so a gap can appear if you have deleted a sensor along the way; counting the actual entries gives you the true used total rather than relying on the highest number alone. The 128-zone limit covers all your security RF and life-safety sensors together, including PowerG and other supported frequencies. Once you have found a zone in the list, you can also edit that zone on the IQ5 Hub to change its name, group, or other settings. If you want a quick look at how sensors are grouped rather than counted, the Sensor Group page offers a reference to every group and its actions.

Checking how many zones are used on the IQ5 Hub lets you track your sensor count and know how much room is left before the 128-device limit.
