How Do I Clear Messages From the IQ5 Hub Message Center?

To clear messages from the Qolsys IQ5 Hub Message Center, touch the message icon in the upper right corner of the home screen, select the message you want to remove, and touch OK. You can also clear all messages at once by touching the Acknowledge All option at the bottom of your screen.

The Qolsys IQ5 Hub Message Center provides a centralized location for viewing system alerts, alarms, provider messages, and contact information. The Message Center icon appears in the upper right corner of the home screen and displays a badge when new messages are available. Keeping your Message Center clear of old notifications helps you identify new alerts quickly and ensures your IQ5 Hub operates efficiently.

Steps to Clear Individual Messages

  1. Touch the message icon in the upper right corner of the IQ5 Hub home screen. The Message Center opens showing four sections: Contact, Video Tutorials, Alerts/Alarms, and Messages.
  2. Select the Alerts/Alarms or Messages section depending on which type of notification you want to clear. The Alerts/Alarms section contains system notifications like low battery alerts, alarms, and power failures.
  3. Touch the circle to the left of the message you want to remove. A checkmark appears indicating the message is selected.
  4. Touch OK to remove the selected message from your Message Center. The message is permanently deleted and no longer appears in the list.

Clearing All Messages at Once

If you have multiple messages to clear, touch Acknowledge All at the bottom of the Alerts/Alarms or Messages section. This removes all messages from that section simultaneously. Use this feature after reviewing your alerts to quickly clear your Message Center. Note that Acknowledge All only clears messages in the currently selected section, so you may need to repeat this step in both Alerts/Alarms and Messages if both sections contain notifications.

Understanding Message Center Sections

The IQ5 Hub Message Center contains four sections. Contact provides your security provider's phone number, email, and website for easy access to support. Video Tutorials offers instructional videos about your system that play directly on the panel. Alerts/Alarms displays system notifications including low battery warnings, alarm events, and trouble conditions. Messages shows communications sent from your security provider or monitoring company.

Common Alert Types

Your IQ5 Hub generates alerts for various system events. Low battery alerts indicate when a sensor or the panel backup battery needs replacement. Power failure alerts appear if the panel loses AC power and switches to battery backup. Sensor trouble alerts indicate communication issues with wireless PowerG sensors or other devices. Alarm history shows past alarm events with timestamps. Reviewing and clearing these alerts regularly helps maintain system awareness.

Clearing messages from the IQ5 Hub Message Center keeps your system organized and helps you identify new alerts immediately. Consider adding home automation devices for enhanced control.
