How Do I Connect an IQ Keypad PG to the IQ5 NS Security System?

To connect an IQ Keypad PG to the IQ5 NS, open the IQ Installer app and connect to the panel. Navigate to Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, and select Auto Learn Sensor. Touch Start Autolearn, hold the * button on the keypad for three seconds, set Sensor Type to Keypad, and touch Save.

What Is the IQ Keypad PG

The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is a screenless security system panel compatible with the IQ Keypad PG (IQKP-915), a PowerG wireless LCD keypad. Since the IQ5 NS has no built-in display, the IQ Keypad PG is especially useful — it gives users a physical keypad to arm and disarm and check system status without needing the Alarm.com app. No daughter card is required. All enrollment is done through the IQ Installer app.

The IQ Keypad PG has a backlit numeric keypad, LED status indicators, and a panic button. If you also want proximity tag disarming, the IQ Keypad Prox-PG adds a built-in tag reader. Up to 3 PowerG keypads can be connected to the panel.

Steps to Connect the IQ Keypad PG

1. Mount and power on the IQ Keypad PG. Install batteries or connect power and position it within PowerG range of the IQ5 NS.

2. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the IQ5 NS panel. The Configuration menu opens in the app.

6. Touch OK, set Sensor Type to Keypad, choose a Sensor Group and Name, then touch Save. Groups 0, 1, and 2 are available. Enter a name like Entry Keypad or Garage Keypad and touch Save to complete enrollment.

Using the Keypad After Enrollment

Once enrolled, the IQ Keypad PG is the primary hands-on interface for the IQ5 NS since the panel itself has no display. Users enter any valid code to arm or disarm the system. LED status lights show Ready, Armed, Trouble, and AC Power at a glance. For remote access and home automation features, the Alarm.com app with a monitoring plan gives you full system control from anywhere.

Connecting the IQ Keypad PG to your IQ5 NS gives users a physical keypad for arming and disarming the screenless panel on the IQ5 NS.
