What Is the IQ Keypad Prox-PG
The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is a screenless security system panel that works with the IQ Keypad Prox-PG, a PowerG wireless LCD keypad with a built-in proximity tag reader. Because the IQ5 NS has no display of its own, the IQ Keypad Prox-PG is especially useful — it gives users a physical keypad for arming, disarming, and checking system status without needing the Alarm.com app. No daughter card or extra hardware is required.
Users can enter a code or tap a paired proximity tag to control the system. Status lights on the keypad show Ready, Armed, Trouble, and AC Power. The IQ Keypad-PG is also available if proximity tag reading is not needed. All enrollment on the IQ5 NS is done through the IQ Installer app.
Steps to Connect the IQ Keypad Prox-PG
1. Mount and power on the IQ Keypad Prox-PG. Install batteries or connect power per the manufacturer's instructions. Position the keypad within PowerG range of the IQ5 NS.
2. Open the IQ Installer app and connect to the IQ5 NS panel. The Configuration menu opens in the app.

6. Touch OK, set Sensor Type to Keypad, choose a Sensor Group and Name, then touch Save. Groups 0, 1, and 2 are available. Enter a name like Entry Keypad or Garage Keypad and touch Save to complete enrollment.

Using the Keypad After Enrollment
Once enrolled, the IQ Keypad Prox-PG is immediately active. Users can enter any valid user code to arm or disarm the IQ5 NS, or tap a paired proximity tag against the reader. This is the primary hands-on interface for the IQ5 NS since the panel itself has no display. Status lights on the keypad reflect the current system state at a glance. You can add up to 3 PowerG keypads per panel. For remote access and home automation features, the Alarm.com app with a monitoring plan gives you full system control from anywhere.
Connecting the IQ Keypad Prox-PG to your IQ5 NS gives users a physical keypad with proximity tag access for arming and disarming the system on the IQ5 NS.
