How Do I Create an Additional Login for My Alarm.com Account?

To create a new login, first log into the Alarm.com account. Then choose "Users" from the left menu, then "Manage Logins", finally "Add a Login". Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the process. Once finished, the user will receive an email allowing them to create their own password.

There is no limit to the number of logins that can be created for an Alarm.com account, but there is a limit to the number of valid codes the alarm panel supports. For example, a 2GIG GC3 supports up to 100 user codes, but an Alarm.com account associated with a GC3 can have more than 100 logins.

Any user that is created in Alarm.com but not tied to a panel user code will still be able to arm/disarm through the app. It will also still log-in successfully to Alarm.com as that user, but the user will not have a valid 4-digit code for the system. They will be limited to controlling the panel exclusively from Alarm.com, never from the GC3 itself. It is also possible to have multiple users log-in with the same credentials from different devices, but we recommend that each user have their own login credentials.

To add an Alarm.com login to an existing account follow these steps:

1. Access Alarm.com. Go to https://www.alarm.com/login.aspx and log-in as a master user. From the menu on the left side of the page, click on "Users":

2. Add user information. At the top of the page, click "Manage Logins", then "Add a Login". Enter the user's email. Alarm.com will automatically use this as the login name as well. It can be changed, but we recommend using the email. It is easy to remember, and Alarm.com requires that each username be unique on their server. Then select the language preference:

3. Choose permissions and save. There are several pre-defined permission levels to choose from, as well as "Limited Device Access" and "Custom" permissions that you can configure. Once you've made your selections, make sure to click "Save".

4. Return to users. After clicking "Save" you will be returned to the "Users" screen. You will see the new login displayed. If you need to make adjustments to the user's permissions, click the link available on the username, adjust and save.
