How Do I Delete a Sensor on the IQ5 NS Security System?
To delete a sensor from the IQ5 NS, open the IQ Installer app on your mobile device and navigate to Installation, then Devices, then Security Sensors. Select the sensor you want to remove, choose Delete, and confirm the removal when prompted by the app to permanently remove the device.
Before You Begin
The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) allows you to delete individual sensors from your security system through the IQ Installer app. Deleting a sensor removes it permanently from the panel zone list. This is useful when replacing a faulty sensor, removing a device that is no longer in use, or reconfiguring your system layout. If you have not yet connected the IQ Installer app to your panel, see our guide on setting up the IQ5 NS with the IQ Installer app before proceeding.
Keep in mind that once a sensor is deleted, you will need to re-enroll it through Auto Learn or Manual Add if you want to use it again. If you only need to change a sensor setting like the name, chime type, or sensor group, use Edit Sensor instead of deleting and re-adding the device. You can also delete all sensors at once using the trash can icon at the top of the sensor list page in the IQ Installer app.
Deleting a Sensor
1. Open the IQ Installer app and navigate to Installation, then Devices, then Security Sensors. The Security Sensors page displays options for Auto Learn Sensor, Add Sensor, Edit Sensor, Delete Sensor, Sensor Status, and Sensor Group.

Tips
After deleting sensors, verify your system is working correctly by checking the Sensor Status option under Security Sensors in the IQ Installer app. This page shows all enrolled sensors with their zone numbers, signal strength, and current status.
If you need to add new sensors to replace the ones you deleted, compatible options include the IQ Door/Window-S for standard entry points, the IQ Motion-S for interior motion detection, and PowerG sensors for extended wireless range. Use the Auto Learn Sensor option in the Security Sensors menu to quickly enroll new devices.
Removing unused or faulty sensors from your system keeps your zone list clean and your security monitoring accurate on the IQ5 NS.
