How Do I Delete a Z-Wave Device From the IQ5 Hub Panel?
To delete a Z-Wave device from the IQ5 Hub, swipe down, touch Settings, Advanced Settings, and enter the Installer Code (1111 by default). Go to Installation, Devices, Z-Wave Devices, and use Clear Device to remove an active device or Delete Failed Device to remove an unresponsive one.
Two Ways to Remove a Z-Wave Device
The IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) has two options for removing Z-Wave devices. Clear Device removes an active device from the panel and simultaneously excludes it from the Z-Wave network, making it available for pairing with another controller. Use this when the device is still powered on and communicating. Delete Failed Device removes a node from the panel's memory when the device is no longer communicating and cannot be reached.
The key difference is that Clear Device requires you to physically interact with the device during the process. Delete Failed Device does not — it only removes the record from the panel's memory and is only available for devices the panel has confirmed are unresponsive.
Method 1: Clear Device (Active Device)
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch Settings. The Settings page opens.

4. Touch Clear Device. The panel sends an exclusion signal and prompts you to press the learn or pair button on the device.

5. Press the pair or learn button on the Z-Wave device. Refer to the device's manual for the specific procedure. The panel confirms when the device has been cleared and returns to the Z-Wave Devices menu.
Method 2: Delete Failed Device (Unresponsive Device)
1. Navigate to Installation, Devices, Z-Wave Devices as described above. The Z-Wave Devices menu opens.
2. Touch Delete Failed Device. A list of failed Z-Wave devices appears. Only devices the panel has confirmed are unresponsive appear here.

3. Check the boxes next to the devices you want to remove, then touch Delete. The selected devices are removed from the panel's memory with no physical interaction required.
After Removing a Device
After clearing a device, it is excluded from the Z-Wave network and ready to pair with a new controller. To re-add it to the IQ5 Hub later, use Add Device to enroll it again. You can continue expanding your home automation setup by adding new Z-Wave devices at any time through the Z-Wave Devices menu.
Knowing which removal method to use on the IQ5 Hub keeps your Z-Wave network clean and devices ready to re-pair when needed on the IQ5 Hub.
