How Do I Display the MAC ID on a Honeywell Wireless Alarm System?

You can display the MAC ID on a Honeywell Wireless Alarm System by accessing the Communication ID Numbers Menu on the panel. You must provide the Installer Code to access this menu. This code is 4112 by default. This menu also shows the CRC code. You will provide both to your alarm dealer.

The MAC and CRC codes are needed when you go to register the IP communicator for the system. This is needed for associating it with your AlarmNet account, plus your central station account if you have central station monitoring service. If you don't provide these codes, then IP monitoring will not be possible. You could technically still do cellular monitoring if you have a cellular communicator. But if you have a Lyric System with a built-in WIFI card, then there really is no reason not to activate the module.

After your alarm monitoring company has both the MAC and CRC codes for your Honeywell Security System, they will be able connect the system to your associated AlarmNet account. If you have access to Total Connect 2.0, doing this will also tie it to your TC2 account. This is important if you want to do things like control Z-Wave devices remotely and view your TC2 Cameras. This is also important for enabling central station monitoring. This way, even if the user does not receive a TC2 notification regarding an alarm, the central station will still following dispatching procedures.

Please note that you can only find the MAC and CRC codes if your panel has an IP communicator installed. The Lyric comes with a WIFI card built in. But the LYNX Touch Systems need to have one added separately. You must add a Honeywell L5100-WIFI Card if you want to have your LYNX Touch communicate across IP. Without an added IP communicator, a LYNX Touch

The process for finding the MAC and CRC codes is the same across the Honeywell LYNX Touch Systems and the Lyric Controller. If you want to find the MAC and CRC codes for your wireless Honeywell Alarm System, complete the following steps:

1. Access Communication ID Numbers. Start from the main panel screen. Choose Security > More (LYNX Touch only) > Tools > Installer Code (default is 4112) > Program > Comm Diagnostics > Down Arrow > Communication ID Numbers. The communication ID numbers will be displayed.

2. Note the codes. Take note of the MAC and CRC codes at the top of the screen. You will need to provide these codes to your alarm dealer. You may also need to reference them later.

The picture below shows these codes on a Lyric System:

3. Exit programming. Keep pressing the back arrow at the top-right of the screen until you return to the main screen. If you are using a LYNX Touch, make sure to press "Yes" when asked if you want to allow the Installer to re-enter programming.
