How do I enter walk test mode on my Lyric Gateway?
A user can enter walk test mode on a Lyric Gateway through the MyHome Gateway app.
The MyHome Gateway app lets a user interact with the Gateway through a smart device. The smart device will need to be on the same network as the Lyric Gateway to connect (the smart device via WIFI, the Lyric Gateway via WIFI or Ethernet). The walk test mode can be enabled through the app by clicking: Security -> Tools -> Enter the master code (default is 1234) -> Advanced -> Walk Test.
Walk test mode is a troubleshooting feature that’s used to confirm that devices are properly programmed into the system. When a user enables Walk Test Mode on the Gateway, the system will sound a confirmation beep, and the app will go back to the home screen with “Walk Test-Home to Quit” displayed at the top of the screen in orange text.
When Walk Test mode is enabled the system will sound a single beep every 30 seconds as a reminder that the system is in test mode. The system will sound a chime (either default, or the selected chime sound for that sensor) each time a door/window sensor is activated. Motions will signify a transmission to the panel with the default chime sound (3 beeps) while the system is in test mode. Fire or Carbon Monoxide detectors should be tested following the manufacturer’s instructions. Once all zones have been tested, and returned to their normal positions, no zone faults should be displayed on the MyHome Gateway screen. Once all faults are cleared, press Home, and enter the Master Code to exit walk test mode. If you forget, walk test mode will automatically end after 4 hours. This test mode is a very convenient way to test and confirm that motions are properly programmed into the system and installed in a viable location.
