How Do I Find the MAC Address of the IQ5 Hub Alarm System?

To find the MAC address of the IQ5 Hub, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and enter your code. Next, touch About and scroll to the Panel MAC Address. This is the panel's unique network hardware address, which you may need for router settings, WIFI setup, or tech support.

What the MAC Address Is For

The IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) has a MAC address, a unique hardware identifier for its network connection. It stays the same for the life of the panel, and you may need it when setting up WIFI on a network that filters devices by MAC address, reserving an IP address for the panel on your router, or troubleshooting a connection with support. It is listed on the panel's About page as the Panel MAC Address.

Finding it is a quick, view-only task that changes nothing on your security system. The About page also lists other identifiers you may be asked for, such as the software version, serial number, and, for the cellular radio, the IMEI. It is a handy one-stop page whenever you need a piece of information about the panel.

Before You Begin

The About page sits in Advanced Settings, which you can reach with any of your codes: the Installer Code (1111 by default), Master Code (1234 by default), or Dealer Code (2222 by default). The steps below use the Master Code. Viewing the MAC address makes no changes to the panel, so you can look it up as often as you need to.

  4. Scroll to Panel MAC Address. Scroll down the About page to the Panel MAC Address entry. It is shown as six pairs of characters, such as 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E. Write it down or take a photo if you need it for your router or for support.

Tips

A MAC address is always six pairs of letters and numbers separated by colons, so copy all twelve characters exactly when giving it to your router or to support. If you are setting up WIFI on a network that only allows approved devices, add this MAC address to the router's allowed list before connecting the panel. You can also view the MAC addresses of devices connected to the panel's own access point under the Wi-Fi settings, which is useful when the IQ5 Hub is acting as a router for IQ Remotes or cameras.

Finding the MAC address of the IQ5 Hub gives you the network identifier you need for router setup and support.
