How Do I Get My ADC-V723 Added to My Alarm.com Account Via the Mobile App?

You can get your ADC-V723 added to your Alarm.com account via the mobile app by first getting your ADC-V723 connected to a local WIFI network, then accessing your Alarm.com account thru the mobile app so that you can provide the camera's MAC address. You can then view the camera's video feed.

For this FAQ, we will assume that you already have an Alarm.com account that has video services enabled. If you need to have video surveillance added to your account, then reach out to your monitoring provider, and ask them about adding the feature. Once ready, complete the following steps to add your ADC-V723 to your Alarm.com account using the mobile app:

1. Connect camera to network. You will need to have your ADC-V723 Outdoor Camera connected to local WIFI. This can be done through WPS pairing, or by using Access Point (AP) Mode pairing. You can check this FAQ for WPS pairing, and this FAQ for AP Mode pairing. WPS is the easier option for getting the camera online, but the WPS protocol is no longer considered very secure. If you place a premium on network security, it is recommended by those in that field to disable WPS on your router. AP Mode uses the WPA standard and allows you to connect the camera to the network using the password or pre-shared key. As long as your network password is properly unique and difficult, this is the more secure method to use. You can tell that the camera is connected to the network because its LED will be solid green.

2. Access ADC Mobile App. Open the Alarm.com Mobile App on your Android or iOS device. Login to your account if you haven't already. You will be required to perform two-factor authentication (2FA) if it is enabled on your account. If you don't have 2FA configured for your account, but you would like to, check out this FAQ. If you are having trouble logging in, then contact your monitoring company for help.

3. Access Add Video Device. Upon logging into Alarm.com via the mobile app, click the three (3) horizontal bars in the upper-left corner. Select Video, and then the Settings button (the gear) in the upper-right corner. Then select Add Video Device. This is where you can pair a camera with your account.

4. Pair the camera. If your ADC-V723 is connected to WIFI, then Alarm.com should find it right away. You can press the blue Install button to continue. If the camera requires a firmware update, the blue button may read "Upgrade & Install" instead. Please note that the update may take up to 30 minutes to complete, and it may take even longer in some rare instances. From there, follow the on-screen prompts to finish enrolling.

If the camera does not show up automatically, then you can alternatively enter the MAC Address manually at the bottom. The camera's 12-digit MAC Address is found on the bottom of the camera, next to a QR code and near the two (2) screws that keep the SD card slot door closed. You can also press the small logo in the far right of the Enter MAC Address field to access your mobile device's camera so that you can scan the MAC Address of the ADC-V723 and have it entered automatically, instead of you having to enter it yourself. Press the blue Install or Upgrade & Install button, and then follow the on-screen prompts to pair the camera.
