How Do I Turn On the Solar Page on the IQ5 NS Security System?
The IQ5 NS does not have a Solar Page, because its manual lists no Solar Page setting and it has no display or homepage. The Solar Page is an option on the IQ Panel 5 and IQ5 Hub, so there is nothing to turn on. Choose a panel with a display if you want solar information shown there.
Does the IQ5 NS Have a Solar Page
The IQ5 NS (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) does not have a Solar Page. On the IQ Panel 5 and IQ5 Hub, the Solar Page is an optional page that solar integrators can use to push information to the panel's display. The IQ5 NS manual lists no Solar Page or Installation Tracker setting, and the IQ5 NS has no display or homepage to show it on.
That means there is nothing to turn on for the system.
What the Solar Page Does on Other Panels
On the IQ Panel 5 and IQ5 Hub, Solar Page is disabled by default. When enabled, a new page can appear on the panel for solar information, and it is set up through the Installation Tracker using an Integrator ID, an email, and a Project Code from your solar integrator. Related options choose whether the page is the homepage and whether the solar webpage hides when inverter data arrives from Alarm.com.
If You Want Solar Information on the Panel
If you want solar information shown on your panel, the IQ Panel 5 and IQ5 Hub both include the Solar Page. All panels in this family share the same core security system features, so the choice comes down to whether you want a display that can show it.
How the Panels Differ
The IQ5 NS is managed through the IQ Installer app and has no display. Features that depend on a screen, such as a homepage or a solar page, are not part of this model. The core detection, arming, and reporting work the same way, so for most homes the difference does not matter. For a home with solar equipment that you want to see on the panel, a panel with a display is the better fit.
Solar Information Without a Display
You can still work with a solar integrator on a home that uses the system. Your integrator can share information through their own tools and through Alarm.com, and you can keep monitoring your solar equipment there. What the system does not offer is a page on the panel itself.
The Solar Settings on the Other Panels
The IQ Panel 5 and IQ5 Hub have four related solar settings in Installer/Dealer Settings. Solar Page is disabled by default and turns the page on. Make Solar the Homepage is enabled by default and decides whether the Solar Page is the homepage. Installation Tracker holds the Integrator ID, email, and Project Code from your solar integrator. Solar Page Hidden by Solar Data is disabled by default and hides the solar webpage once inverter data starts arriving from Alarm.com. The last three are greyed out until the page is enabled.
Who Uses the Solar Page
The Solar Page is aimed at homes where a solar integrator installs the equipment and wants to show information on the panel. If you do not have solar equipment, you can ignore the setting on any panel. If you do, ask your integrator whether they expect the Solar Page on the panel, since that decides which panel fits your home.
Planning Your System
Decide before you buy whether you want a panel that can show solar information. If you plan to add solar later, a panel with a display leaves that option open.
The IQ5 NS does not have a Solar Page, but the IQ Panel 5 and IQ5 Hub include one for solar information on the IQ5 NS.
