How Do I Turn On ULC Power Restoration on My IQ5 Hub System?

To turn on ULC Commercial Power Restoration on the IQ5 Hub, swipe down and touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and enter your Installer Code. Next, touch Installation, then Installer Settings, and then enable ULC Commercial Power Restoration for a full 120 second hold on sensor activity.

About ULC Commercial Power Restoration

ULC Commercial Power Restoration is a false-alarm-reduction feature on the IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE). When power is restored after an outage, sensors can briefly report activity as they power back up, which can cause a nuisance alarm. With this setting enabled, the panel ignores all sensor activity for 120 seconds after power comes back, giving your security system a two-minute window to settle before it acts on any sensor signals.

The feature is disabled by default, so out of the box the panel responds to sensors immediately when power returns. As the name suggests, the 120-second hold is intended to meet ULC commercial installation requirements, which call for a longer settling window than a typical home. Turning it on changes only the brief period right after power is restored and does not affect how sensors behave during normal operation.

Before You Begin

ULC Commercial Power Restoration is in the Installer Settings, which require the Installer Code (1111 by default) or Dealer Code (2222 by default). The steps below use the Installer Code. This is the commercial, 120-second version of the power-restoration hold, which is a longer window than the shorter residential power-restoration setting.

Tips

This 120-second hold is the commercial counterpart to the shorter SIA power-restoration setting, so for a typical home you would usually use the residential version instead. See our guide on how to turn on SIA Power Restoration on the IQ5 Hub for that 60-second option. The hold only applies right after power returns and does not reduce your protection, so enabling it is a safe way to cut down on false alarms following an outage.
