How Do I Use the Panic Buttons on the IQ5 Hub Alarm System?

To use the panic buttons on the IQ5 Hub, touch the Emergency Panic icon in the bottom right corner of the home screen, then touch Police, Fire, or Medical depending on the emergency. Each button sounds its own siren pattern and sends a matching signal to your monitoring center right away.

What the Panic Buttons Do

The IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) includes three manual panic buttons on the Emergency Panic screen: Police, Fire, and Medical. You can use these buttons any time, even when the security system is disarmed or no sensor has triggered an alarm. Each button sends a different signal type to your monitoring center so the dispatcher knows exactly what kind of help to send.

Touching Police triggers the Police siren pattern and sends a police emergency signal. Touching Fire triggers the Fire siren pattern and sends a fire emergency signal. Touching Medical triggers the Emergency siren pattern and sends a medical emergency signal. All three work the same way from the panel's perspective, sounding an audible siren locally while notifying the central station remotely.

How to Use the Panic Buttons

1. Touch the Emergency Panic icon in the bottom right corner of the home screen. This opens the Emergency Panic screen showing Police, Fire, Medical, and Silent Alarm options.

Canceling a Panic Alarm

If you touch a panic button by mistake, touch the Cancel button that appears on the panel and enter a valid user code to cancel the signal right away. Your monitoring provider may still call to verify before standing down, depending on their verification procedures, so stay near the panel or phone after canceling in case they reach out. If you don't want the siren to sound at all, use the Silent Alarm option instead of the Police or Medical buttons.
