Is There a Wireless Keypad for the Honeywell L3000?
Both the Honeywell 5828 and 5828V are wireless fixed English keypads that has an internal speaker that will sound when an alarm is triggered.
The 5828 and the 5828V can be powered by 3, 1.5V AA batteries. However, if the 5828 and the 5828V are powered by battery only, in an effort to preserve the batteries, the keypad will go to sleep. The keypads will need to be “awakened” by pressing any button before it will beep or announce any fault. It’s recommended to purchase the K0991 AC transformer which plugs into the back of the 5828 or the 5828V and into a wall outlet. Pairing the keypad with the transformer will keep the keypad awake and users will not have to press a key to wake the keypad up.
Installing batteries is recommended as a backup if using the AC transformer, if power is lost for any reason, the keypad will continue to run on batteries.
A transformer is included in the Honeywell 5828DM. The Honeywell 5828DM is a desk mount for the 5828 or the 5828V keypad. Pairing the 5828 or the 5828V with a desk mount is perfect for users who want to place the keypad on a counter, table or nightstand. The desk mount makes it easy to move from place to place and is ideal for anyone who doesn’t want to make any holes in a wall.
The difference between the 5828 and the 5828V is the 5828V has a “voice” and will speak when a zone is faulted. The 5828V will also annunciate the zone description and system status. The 5828 will display Alarm, Fire, Away, Stay, Instant, Bypass, Test, Phone, Not Ready, Chime, Bat, Cancelled and NO AC. In addition to annunicating the 5828V will also display Alarm, Fire, Away, Stay, Instant, Bypass, Test, Phone, Not Ready, Chime, Bat, Cancelled and NO AC.
The dimensions of the 5828 and 5828V are identical at 6 ¼” W x 4 ¾” H X 1 ⅜” D.
