What is the "Remove All Devices" Option for the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus?

The "Remove All Devices" option for the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus is a way to reset the Z-Wave controller and clear every Z-Wave device from the panel all at once. This is easier than deleting every Z-Wave device individually. It should only be used as a final troubleshooting step for Z-Wave issues.

If you use the Remove All Devices option, then all programmed Z-Wave network information and all devices will be cleared from the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus System simultaneously. Any Z-Wave device you want to continue using with the system will need to be re-added to the panel through a traditional inclusion process or by using the SmartStart feature, if supported.

It is important to note that if you are re-adding a device through a traditional inclusion process, then you will still need to manually clear the device from the network before attempting to pair it. This is because the device still has residual network data from earlier when it was paired with the IQ Panel 2. Even though you performed the Remove All Device function, that only clears the network data from the IQ Panel 2. The Z-Wave device will still contain network data until you clear it from the network using the IQ2 or another Z-Wave controller or hub.

There are only a few situations where you would likely use the Remove All Devices function. One possibility is if you have multiple Z-Wave devices that are all not functioning properly, and you believe that something is wrong with the panel's Z-Wave controller. The Remove All Devices function will essentially reset the Z-Wave controller. You should then find that the devices work properly once they have been cleared from the network and then re-added to the IQ2. This is a last resort troubleshooting step that is done prior to replacing the entire panel when Z-Wave is not working.

Another possibility is that you are selling the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 System or giving it away to someone else. You might want to first remove all the devices from the system so that the new owner does not encounter your Z-Wave devices. This is a common courtesy if you plan on giving the panel away. It also represents a safety measure, as you should not have personal Z-Wave devices enrolled with a panel that you are no longer using. Please note that you should also perform a factory default, also called a Master Reset, for your IQ Panel 2 prior to selling it or giving it away to someone else.

To access the Remove All Devices option, start from the main screen of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. Click the small grey bar at the top, and choose Settings > Advanced Settings > enter the Installer Code (default 1111) > Installation > Devices > Z-Wave Devices > Remove All Devices. Upon clicking the button, the system will ask you if you are sure. Click OK. The system will then begin removing all the devices from the Z-Wave network. You should then get a message stating that all devices have been successfully removed.
